Selected Visual Design Work

This section features selected visual design projects completed during my BFA in Design at the School of Visual Arts (SVA). Each assignment began with a defined design challenge while the conceptual direction and execution were open to interpretation. All projects were completed independently to assess individual design thinking, problem-solving, and technical application of design tools. Concepts, visual systems, and design elements, such as patterns, layouts, and typographic compositions; were developed as original solutions based on research and creative exploration, while managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Seven Deadly Sins

Chocolate bar packaging and branding

Challenge

Design a chocolate bar packaging concept inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins.

What

I created a visual branding system where each sin is represented through symbolic animals, seven original pattern systems, and distinct color identities.

How

I designed seven original pattern systems and applied them to packaging mockups using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to visualize the final product.

I produced real chocolate bars and cut them into business-card-sized pieces as a tactile promotional takeaway. Contact information appears in black either on the wrapper exterior or inside the packaging.

Faber - Castell

Brand extension and variation

Challenge

Select an existing brand and expand it by designing a new product variation.

What

I extended the German art brand Faber-Castell into a conceptual cosmetics line called Wimper, translating the brand’s visual identity into a bold, minimal makeup product system.

How

I adapted core brand elements such as typography, logo structure, and color language, applying them to cosmetic packaging mockups using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

CrazySexyCool - (Swiss Style Typography)

Book redesign

Challenge

Redesign the inside spreads of CrazySexyCool using a distinct typographic style.

What

I redesigned the spread using Swiss-style typography, focusing on strong grid structure, sans-serif type, and asymmetric layout.

How

After researching Swiss design references, I developed the layout using Akzidenz Grotesk, scanned and retyped the content, and edited imagery to create a balanced typographic composition using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

CrazySexyCool - (Tabloid Style Typography)

Book redesign

Challenge

Redesign the book cover and inside spreads of CrazySexyCool using a distinct typographic style.

What

I developed a redesign using Tabloid-style typography, focusing on bold headlines, sans-serif type, and dramatic editorial composition inspired by vintage newspaper layouts.

How

After researching historical tabloid publications, I experimented with layouts, scanned and edited imagery, and designed two cover variations emphasizing exaggerated headlines and expressive visual storytelling using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

CrazySexyCool - (Woodtype Style Typography)

Book redesign

Challenge

Redesign the book cover and inside spreads of CrazySexyCool using a distinct typographic style.

What

I developed a redesign using woodtype typography, focusing on bold letterforms, strong hierarchy, and expressive typographic compositions inspired by historic woodtype printing.

How

After researching historical woodtype and letterpress references, I experimented with layout variations, scanned and edited imagery, and designed two cover concepts emphasizing dramatic headlines and strong typographic presence using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

The Black List

Poster seires

Challenge

Design a poster series based on the HBO documentary The Black List.

What

I developed a series of posters translating the themes and visual language of the documentary into bold graphic compositions.

How

After studying the documentary’s segments and color-coded introduction slides, I created poster variations using black-and-white imagery paired with primary color accents to reflect the visual identity of each segment using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
